I used to do these a lot in my teen years. I would listen to the radio and work them for hours. Haven't done this in years. 

When I am away on personal time, I leave an out of office message that reads something like: "I will out of the office from June X throough June Y. I will not see this email, and will not have time when I return to go through the volume of emails I will receive. If you need an immediate response, please email my Exec. Asst. @ Copeland@ucc.org. If it can wait, please resend upon my return."

By doing that, I eliminate what would be one full day of doing nothing but the work I left behind when I went on vacation. 

I am definitely going to have to do this, when I get back from the road.
